Individual Space

Getting started with the individual space

In order for your students to come to class well prepared, you need to think carefully about the work you are giving them. On this page you will find a number of tools that help you to create a task that allows you to keep your finger on the pulse as a teacher. You will also find a checklist here that you can consult to check whether your individual space meets a number of conditions.

Making a video as a task

Getting started with Screencast-O-Matic

With the help of this free tool you can make video recordings of your screen and/or webcam in no time. Important to know: when you use the free version of this tool, you do not have the option of movie editing. Also keep in mind that you have a maximum recording time of 15 minutes per video.

Getting started with Edpuzzle

By means of the free tool Edpuzzle you can add questions to your video that allow you to gain insight into the processing process of your students from a distance. Which questions do they answer correctly or incorrectly? How many times did they watch a movie? Before you start on the group space, you as a teacher can easily check where which student is and adjust your lesson accordingly.

Using a text as a task

Get started with Actively Learn

With the help of this tool you let your students read a text in preparation for the group space and you quickly test the understanding of your students on the basis of a number of questions. Important to know: with the free version you can upload three texts per month.

Getting started with Perusall

By means of the Perusall tool you can let students learn together at home. You provide your students with a text in which they can mark and comment on passages they do not understand, which they are not sure about or where they have further questions. Then fellow students can respond to this. You can have students work in small groups and as a teacher you can download a report with one mouse click in which the most common topics with questions/comments are distilled. This way you can seamlessly prepare the transition to your group space.
